Certificate in Sustainability & Environmental Management (CSEM) — the advanced professional qualification for operational sustainability practitioners, accredited by ISEP (Institute of Sustainability & Environmental Professionals). This 15-day (120-hour) programme provides detailed knowledge of environmental and sustainability principles, management tools, and implementation practices at an operational level. The course covers sustainable business models, governance, policy interpretation, environmental management systems, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, risk assessment, and performance improvement. Prerequisites: Foundation-level environmental or sustainability knowledge, gained through work experience or completion of the Foundation Certificate (FCSEM). Assessment: Three knowledge-based assignments demonstrating understanding of sustainability principles, plus one assessment of competence demonstrating practical workplace application. An alternative applied learning pathway is available. Successful candidates receive the CSEM certificate and are eligible for ISEP Practitioner Membership (PISEP), with one year's membership included. Practitioners may progress toward Registered Environmental Practitioner (REnvP) certification. Progression: CSEM → PISEP membership → REnvP certification → Full ISEP membership and Chartered Environmentalist eligibility.
